I've spent about twenty years building software — backends, frontends, mobile, infrastructure, internal tooling. The interesting work usually happens in the gaps between those, and that's where I tend to end up.
Recent
Performance work at a fintech (sanctions screening 800ms → ~1ms). Multi-tenancy redesign at an enterprise SaaS. Upstream contributions to Puma, OpenSanctions, and others.
What I do
Most of my work falls into a few shapes: architecture decisions that are hard to reverse (cloud/infra choices, multi-tenancy, data model changes), performance work, and the developer tooling and CI that shorten everyone else's day. After twenty years, the specific stack matters less than the shape of the problem.
How I work
Remote, with occasional on-site in the Netherlands and the rest of the EU. Short advisory sessions, focused projects, and longer-term engagements all work — the shape depends on the problem.
